GRETA
Greta Schenck was born in the 90’s, but one could easily be convinced that she was born decades before that. Her glamorous pop songs are dripping with nostalgia, and Greta’s sonic universe brings a plentitude of synthesizers, heavy electronic drums and sophisticated musical compositions.
Greta, who was born in northern Germany lives in Copenhagen and she makes beautiful melodic songs inspired by classic pop heroes like ABBA and Kate Bush, and the heavy club and rave-scene of Berlin. The lyrics are rooted in Greta's own thoughts and they revolve around relationships, life, death, human existence and change.
Both Greta’s debut album ‘Ardent Springs’ and her sophomore album ‘Forever We’ll Be Dancing’ received praise from both Danish and international media such as Politiken, Soundvenue, Gaffa, Diffus Magazin, The Line of Best Fit and CLASH. In February 2022 GRETA was featured on the cover of Danish Magazine Gaffa. Her music has been in rotation on Danish radio stations P3, P4 and P6, but also received airplay on UK radio stations BBC radio 1 and BBC radio 6.
In 2021 Greta performed at Gaffa Awards on national television, she took part in Roskilde Festival’s series of online concerts in February 2021 and performed at Roskilde Festival’s Summer Days, for which she received a 6 star review by Soundvenue. She has also performed at by:larm in Oslo.
